INTRODUCING OUR JUDGES:
We have gathered an inspirational judging panel:
Nia Ravichandran @butfirstsalt a biophysicist and food photographer
Commenting on the prize, Robert Fairer stated: “As we come out of this unprecedented, enforced semi-hibernation, this competition is the perfect opportunity for creatives to reflect and express the changes (both good and bad) that they see and feel around them. The theme is open to a wide interpretation and as a judge I am excited to see these changes from so many different viewpoints - we have all had such varied experiences over the past few months. I am also nervous to see the imagery that may come out of the hardships that so many will have endured. It will be a stark but necessary reminder of this period in time. I am keeping an entirely open mind, ready to be surprised.”
Carol Allen-Story said: "I am delighted to be a part of this new imaginative photography contest, which was inspired by the COVID-19 crisis to support artists whose opportunities for work and recognition have been depleted by the pandemic. The contest is free to enter and provides an opportunity for the winner to benefit, not only from the cash prize, but equally as important, mentoring and portfolio reviews by the participating photographer jurors. I am looking forward to seeing what emerges from the prize."
In May 2020 Anna Steinhouse launched the #AnnaSteinhouseAward in support of Artists in Lockdown.
